Der bemerkenswerte Metallschnitt zeigt Justinian im Konzil, er wurde bereits 1503 im Corpus Juris civilis von Gering & Rembolt verwendet. "It ... passed to André Bocard, who used it in editions printed for Jean Petit" (Mortimer 152, mit Abb.). - Titel mit 2 rasierten Stempeln (Fehlstellen, Druckermarke etw. betroffen), Einband gering fleckig, 1 bewegliche Schließe entfernt, sonst schönes, innen sauberes und breitrandiges Exemplar in einem prachtvollen spätgotischen Einband des Klosters St. Stephan in Würzburg (hs. Besitzvermerk).
Rare edition by Bonhomme, Petit & Kerver. Very fine and well-preserved printing in red and black with metalcut device, full-page metalcut illustration (see Mortimer 152) and numerous metalcut initials. Contemp. South German monastery binding over wooden boards, richly blind- and rollstamped, with brass clasps (1 movable part detached). - 2 erased stampes to title (defective pieces, affecting the device), minor staining to binding, else fine copy from the St. Stephans monastery in Würzburg.
